Kahoot activity 9/24- 4A(S): SWBAT Compare and 9/25 contrast prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. 4B(R): SWBAT Investigate and explain cellular processes including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules. 5A(R) Describe the stages of the cell cycle, including DNA replication & mitosis & the importance of the cell cycle to the growth of organisms. 9/26 4A, 4B, 5A, 9A, 9D Study Guided notes on cellular transport and chart of organelles Closing: Teacher will remind students of test the next day and do a final summary of the materials being tested. Warm-up: Students will answer 4 questions from the 2014 released STAAR test which address TEKS 4A, 4B, 9A and 9D. Cell Division/Mitosis Worksheet Assessment: Students will complete Unit 2 Assessment on Cells. Guided Practice: Teacher will introduce the stages of the cell cycle as students complete guided notes/foldable. Independent Practice: Students will view cells in various stages of cell division and use foldable to identify the stage of cell division and complete accompanying questions. Warm-up: Students will identify pictures of various cells in different stages of the cell cycle and label each stage. Guided Practice: Teacher and student will go over the warm up. Students will glue the warm up in their notebook. The teacher will discuss expectations for student vocabulary flash cards homework before administering District Benchmark. Cell Division Vocabulary Flash Cards (Due Monday) Cell analogy project due! Assessment: District Benchmark Plans are subject to change to support the needs of the classroom.
