Specific Job Description: Lockheed Martin will deliver system integration and test expertise in support of a major integration programme which will aid the customer in achieving a sequence of significant deployments to underpin their wider business transformation. This role will provide leadership to an integration and test team comprising 30+ engineers from both Lockheed Martin and our customer. This will require the ability to shape and define the overall Test Strategy, develop that strategy into practical working approaches and manage execution of these. A key enabler will be the successful introduction of a test automation capability which can address system of systems level integration and verification.More widely, the role will also contribute to the definition and establishment of toolset support for the integration environment. Typical Duties: Define and implement Test Strategies and Plans Develop, promote and provide a clear vision and strategy for the integration and test team Provide goals and objectives for the team in line with the Test Strategy Ensure work is on schedule, within budget and meets the customer’s expectations Work closely with the Work Package Managers / Control Account Managers Lead and coach a highly efficient integration and test team and grow its capability to achieve the best blend of automation and specialist skills Build a framework that provides metrics and real-time reporting for the test engineering function Work intelligently towards building a stable and low maintenance set of automated tests which remove the requirement to run regression tests manually Ensure the engineering team utilises the automated tests so as to get the highest return on investment (ROI) Monitor team progress as well as the ROI from automated tests regularly; and share and improve results Measure and improve effectiveness of the automated test suite Be a champion of engineering and operational excellence Close liaison with Lockheed Martin Engineering Managers Participate in proposals and the development of new business opportunities Required Skills: Significant experience within large scale/systems of systems/portfolio systems integration programmes Experience of test planning, management and execution in large scale, complex virtualised and cloud computing environments Success in technical project management leadership, including test management Experience of defining/leading multi-organisation, multi-layerd test teams and the approaches to integrate the various testing levels together Extensive background and experience in system testing, including test automation Comprehensive understanding and demonstrable implementation experience of defining & execution of various test strategies and methodologies at the portfolio/systems integration level Ability to work at any point in the verification and validation part of the software lifecycle Experience with agile development methodologies Able to use understanding of customer needs and expectations to generate mutually beneficial solutions or alternatives Can deliver clear messages through dialogue, written work and formal presentation Commitment to monitoring progress against expectations, addressing performance Demonstrates commitment to sharing ideas, technologies and best practices Willingness to offer fresh, innovative ideas and/or unconventional approaches Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, technical designs, and strategy Experience with continuous integration tools and source control tools Desired Skills: Test experience with high-integrity real-time systems and/or safety-related systems Technical expertise including fluency in one or more popular programming languages Experience shipping software products to market Knowledge of professional engineering practices and best practices for the full development life cycle Knowledge of web services testing, performance testing, load testing (tools and good practices) Experience writing, maintaining and executing automation tests using frameworks such as; JUnit, Telerik Test Studio, HP Unified Functional Testing software, Selenium, TestComplete, Watir or similar Experience of using tools to support planning and tracking of timeboxed or agile approaches Creation of and updating technology roadmaps Good understanding of UML and SysML Familiar with Earned Value Management Standard Job Description: Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems. Typical Minimum Education & Experience: Ideally require Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through extensive professional experience.
