This is in the context of software intensive solutions, within a service oriented architecture, that utilise virtualised environments. Key to the integration programme is the ability to manage multiple, concurrent, solution configurations and baselines within time-boxed integration cycles. The goal is to provide world class and cost effective CM support to ensure the integrity of solutions throughout the specification, implementation, integration, deployment activities and their handover into operational use. Typical Duties: The key activities and responsibilities of the Configuration Manager role are: Define the strategy, processes and plan for Configuration Management (CM) across the programme Plan for, document and maintain the programme’s CM requirements and responsibilities Establish and maintain baseline definitions through approved requirements or specifications, models, applicable documents, statements of work and technical data packages Manage baselines, ensure that changes to baselines are properly authorised and participation in change boards Establish and maintain a status accounting and reporting system that records the technical documentation baseline, authorises changes to the baseline and verification of change incorporation into the documentation and/or product/service Manage configuration audits as required by contract and the applicable policies and procedures Monitor and ensure the integrity of systems/tools that are essential to an effective CM programme Establish, lead and manage a team of CM resources Collaborate with the programme’s integration & test team in support of planning and executing time-boxed integration cycles Collaborate with the programme’s build & release management team in support of multiple, concurrent, solution configurations and baselines Identifying CM needs for toolset support and automation and aiding selection/deployment of this toolset Required Skills: The ideal candidate will have: The relevant CMII qualification Domain knowledge of the internationally recognised Configuration Management standards Demonstrable previous Configuration Management experience at this level Ability to perform within a multi-functional programme team comprising both Lockheed Martin and customer staff Excellent internal/external customer and supplier relationship management skills The ideal candidate will have familiarity with some of the following: Time-boxed or agile approaches ITIL, ITSM and CMDB service oriented architectures model based systems engineering Familiarity with configuration management of virtualised products/services/solutions Experience in a range of commercial CM tools Standard Job Description: Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Prepares reports of change effect on overall product. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities. Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies. Typical Minimum Education & Experience: Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through proven professional experience. Will also consider individuals with equivalent experience / combined education. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
