Miss Comfort 8th Grade ENGLISH Dear Parent/Guardian, I would like to introduce myself as your child’s 8th grade ELA teacher at Kennedy Charter Public School. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your child. I am a native of Richmond, Virginia and a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University. I have high expectations for my students. In our classroom, they will behave in a way that is appropriate to young scholars, and they will work hard to master the content and skills needed to complete 8th grade English. Our classroom will be framed by the theme, “My success is my responsibility.” Your child should bring home a copy of my classroom Rules, Consequences and Procedures on the first day of school. Please read over these rules and procedures with your child and sign the attached sheet. I believe in constant contact with parents/guardians and will do my best to be available to you as well, in order to best service your child. I can be reached at (704) 761-8178 any time before 6PM. Also, you may e-mail me at Sharika.Comfort@kennedycharter.org. Additionally, you are welcome to come observe in our classroom at any time. Please contact me beforehand if you are interested. You can expect your child to have homework generally 3 out of 5 nights a week. Please check in with your child to make sure that they have completed their homework for the following day.
