Genesis: To serve the households effected by construction of Maithon dam
on river Barakar by Damodar Valley Corporation

Target Group & Area of Operation
1.
• Currently, we operates in more than 900 villages in 21 blocks of Deoghar,
Dumka, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, & Sahibganj districts of the Santhal Pargana
division, Jharkhand
2.
• Working for the Santhali & Paharia tribes, dalits, minorities & other backward
castes.
3.
• Till today more than 700 Mahila Sabha ( SHGs) have been formed in all the
operational districts of Santhal Paragana division .
4.
• More than 10,000 women members have been associated with the Mahila
Sabha Groups.
5.
• Mahila Sabhas has been conglomerated in federations at district level . Till
today 6 Mutual Benefit Trusts (MBTs) have been formed and out of 6 MBTs, 5
MBTs have been registered under Indian Trust Act 1882.
