WHAT IS RIO?
RIO (the Research Innovation Office) mainly focuses on academic staff at
UTS.
RIO helps UTS academics to:
• Gain external funding and set up research contracts with funders;
• Ensure that they are doing ethical research;
• Get their research publications and research income counted in national
assessments of University research (HERDC and ERA)  global
rankings;
• Commercialise IP developed by academic staff;
• Gain ‘outcomes’ from research ‘outputs’ - Impact;
• Develop research policy and support research governance.
