Job Responsibilities: This role involves approximately 40% routine or repetitive tasks and 60% challenging and dynamic tasks. Tax Remittances; assess, prepare and submit relevant taxes Work with members of the year end audit team to facilitate accurate and timely audited Financial Statements Provide back-up relief for Payroll & benefits administrator Calculate variable compensation for Affiliates and prepare statements for payment Reconcile bank and investment accounts to the GL every monthly and resolve issues in a timely manner Track Fixed Assets and prepare amortization schedules Maintain accurate records of corporate investments and prepare mark-to-market adjustment Manage Corporate Charitable Trust; Approve donations, prepare cheques Assist with Budget Preparation Prepare monthly financials reports for Management including: Comparative Income Statements/Balance Sheet/Statement of Cash flows; prepare NWM Fund P and L, YTD Analysis Report, Money Product Report and KPI’s Additional accounting support as needed Stay abreast of industry trends Qualifications and Experience: 10 – 15 years Accounting experience with at least 5 at a senior level Full-Charge Book Keeper experience (financial statements and General ledger) (CA, CGA, CMA or CPA) Designation Familiar with AccPac Accounting software and/or an aptitude for learning new systems Familiar with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) Project accounting experience or exposure considered an asset Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer Soft Skills: Essential to be fluent in English both written and spoken Professional with a sense of humor Continuous learner as well as open to learning from others Open to sharing ideas – idea generator Entrepreneurial and accountable Genuinely enjoy your work/professional Analytical with the ability to identify patterns, resolve issues and discrepancies Aptitude for detail Systems thinker with a focus on process improvements Able to provide solutions in a considerate, fun and professional environment Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in an entrepreneurial environment Contacts: Interacts effectively with all Teams TO APPLY: Application closing date is June 6, 2015 Include your cover letter and resume in your application with "Senior Accountant" in the subject line of your email to careers@nicolawealth.com Thank you for your interest in this position.
