This Questionnaire should to be filled-in by the customer as part of the discovery process (either
Pre-sale or Post-sale).
With this info Kaltura will be able to evaluate the appropriate OnPrem solution for the customer, in early discovery phase.
The PM should own this questionnaire and should make sure that PS team will get it fully filled-in.
The questionnaire is divided to 3 sections:
1.
Pre-Sizing – questions that will help Kaltura perform proper sizing estimation
2.
Deployment scope – questions that will clarify the required features and content for the installation
3.
Environment details - questions regarding network and infrastructure needed before actual work can start.
1.
Some of this info might already been provided by the customer in early stage discussions. In this case, it is recommended to review the list and not send the customer these questions.
2.
The questions in this list focus on OnPrem aspects and not aim to cover all of the required info for project discovery (for example, player customization or customer workflows are not in the questions list).
1.
Estimate the number of publisher accounts (Publisher is the highest hierarchy that defines an account. Below that hierarchy there are users that can manage content (KMC). Both publisher or user can have separate permissions. End-users are video viewers) expected to be managed on the
Kaltura cluster:
Date # of publisher
At launch
6 months from launch accounts
1 year from Launch
2.
Estimate the number of monthly uploads: date
At launch

# of monthly uploads

3.
Estimate the number of users watching video who will be visiting the web site monthly.
For example, if this is an internal Intranet site relevant to all employees in your organization, and you expect every single employee to access this site at least once per month, this would be the total number of employees with Intranet access in your organization. date # of monthly visits by end-users
At launch
6 months from launch
1 year from Launch
4.
Do you wish to have components redundancy/failover on your deployed system?
5.
Mark the platforms on which you wish the end-users to view the videos:
Platform
Desktop
Android OS
Target for End-users view iPhone iPad
BlackBerry / Nokia
[Note – for each platform one/several favors will have to be encode and store]
6.
How many videos your system currently has, that needs to be encoded for launch?
7.
What is the volume (size in GB) of video files uploaded at launch?
8.
Indicate the length of the average video, in minutes.
9.
Indicate the average bitrate (in kbps) of the video (video+audio) source files.
10.
Other considerations - Is there any other aspect of your workflow that may have a major impact on any of the resources of the on-site Kaltura online video platform?
11.
If MediaSpace is part of the package, please estimate the number of users (viewers) going to use
MediaSpace.
12.
Please specify the use cases in which your different users (sys Admin, KMC users, end-users) will access the system. For example – from their home / only from school or work / through VPN / etc.
13.
Optional – If you know or have any special requirement, indicate the Video formats uploaded including bitrate & format. For example: format - mp4, h264, bitrate - 2500Kbps, width – 720.
