1. Parish Payment page
A page is now available on the Diocesan website which allows members of the
public to make payments to different parishes within our diocese. People can
nominate a parish, specify the reason for the payment (typically planned giving,
wedding deposit, donation or other reason) and then pay via a secure credit card
connection.
The CDF hopes this will streamline the payment process on behalf of parishes. The
page is available at the address http://mn.catholic.org.au/parishes-priests/parishpayments or under the “Current Links” section on the homepage http://mn.catholic.org.au/
Please notify relevant people within your parish and make available to
parishioners.
2. Australian Catholic Youth Festival Information Night
Australian Catholic Youth Festival Diocesan Info Night will be held on Tuesday 26
May beginning at 7:00 PM at Toohey Room, 841 Hunter Street, Newcastle West.
The Diocesan co-ordinators will be holding an information night for the upcoming
Youth Festival. This night is for students, teachers, clergy, parents and anyone

1. A Day of Reflection- Biblical Women will be held on Wednesday 20 May at 10:00 AM at
Mercy Spirituality Centre, 26 Renwick St, Toronto. This is a day of input, reflection and
prayer focusing on God's invitation to each of us to live lives to the full in an awareness of
God-with-us. We will remember and celebrate the women who have touched our lives
for good, as well as reflect on women from our sacred scriptures whose lives can be our
guides and companions on own life journey. Facilitator: Helen Baguley RSM 10.00am –

2. Family Faith Forum 2015 will be held on Friday 22 May at Toohey Room, Diocesan Offices,
841 Hunter Street, Newcastle West. Sacramental teams, catechists, teachers and priests
are invited to explore how parishes might journey with families for the Sacraments of
Initiation. There will be parish showcases, demonstrations and displays. Bishop Bill will
launch the new policy, Becoming Disciples ahead of a forum on how we might
implement the principles of a family-centred, parish-based and school-supported
sacramental program.
3. “Good Morning, Good People” will be held on Saturday 23 May beginning at 7:00 PM at
Adamstown Uniting Church, cnr Brunker and Glebe Sts . Peter Kearney's musical-narrative
on the life of St Francis of Assisi. Peter will sing and tell the life of St Francis of Assisi
accompanied by Newcastle singer Catherine Mahony and Roma Dix (flute). The story will
be illustrated by projections of over a hundred photos, drawings and paintings, including
many by Newcastle artist Dorothy Woodward rsj. $15/$10 concession at door.

4. Africa Day Festival will be held on Sunday 24 May beginning at 12:00 PM at Islington
Public School. Lisa Viola, capoeira, belly dancing, African face painting, drumming

5. Newcastle Catholic Charismatic Renewal Pentecost Sunday will be held on Sunday 24
May beginning at 10:30 AM at St Patrick’s Parish Hall, Wallsend. Newcastle Catholic
Charismatic Renewal invites all people interested to celebrate Pentecost Sunday on
24/5/15 10:30 am at St Patrick's Parish Hall Wallsend, with talks from Phillip and Margaret

6. The Vast Supper: Asylum Seeker Solidarity Dinner will be held on Monday 25 May at 6:00
PM at Love Tree Cafe, down the lane 79 Beaumont St, Hamilton. A culinary journey
connecting vast distances in a night of sumptuous solidarity with asylum seekers. Cost is

9. Youth Ministry Training Session will be held on Friday 29 May at 304 High Street, Maitland.
Theme of the training is Retreat Basics - Running Small Groups. For more information and

10. Interfaith Dialogue with Bishop Bill will be held on Tuesday 02 June beginning at 6:00 PM at
St Pius X High School, Adamstown. An opportunity to join together with our Muslim and
Christian communities to explore the common good that each of our religions share.
Each of us can learn and appreciate what we have in common and our love for our
God. Bishop Bill Wright (Catholic), Bishop Greg Thompson (Anglican), Sheikh Mohamed
Khamis (Imam: Newcastle Mosque) and Farooq Ahmed (Newcastle Muslim Association),

11. Seasons for Growth® Parent Program will be held on Tuesday 02 June at St Joseph’s
Primary School Charlestown. The Seasons for Growth® Parent Program: Supporting your
child following separation or divorce is a small group program (2 x 2hr sessions) for 6-12
parents. It will be offered as 2 evening OR 2 daytime sessions on the 2nd and 9th June. It
will be run at St Joseph's Primary School Charlestown and the cost is $13.50 to cover
resources (concessions available). If you would like to participate in this learning

12. Unity in Diversity Festival will be held on Saturday 13 June beginning at 11:00 AM at
Workshop Way, Newcastle Museum to Civic Park. Come walk with us from Newcastle
Museum to Civic Park and celebrate Unity in Diversity, for Indigenous, for all people of
diverse beliefs, cultures, and religious expression, for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, for
new and old Australians, for everyone. Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes will open the festival
which features an Indonesian band, African drumming, Father Rod Bower, children's
activities, face painting, belly dancing, Tibetan food stall, Ethiopian coffee and food, and
lots more. In conjunction with Refugee Action Network Newcastle and Newcastle:
Celebrate Unity in Diversity.
13. Counsellor Training - Crisis Pregnancy Centre will be held on Saturday 20 June at St
Therese’s School Hall, New Lambton. Training course for Newcastle Pregnancy Help. Cost
