1. Social Justice Sunday
You are invited to join us to celebrate the launch of this year’s Social Justice
Sunday Statement and the blessing of CatholicCare Social Services Refugee
Services on Thursday 24 September at Mayfield Parish Hall, 30 Church Street,
Mayfield from 10.30AM–1.30PM. There will be guest speakers, including refugees
and advocates, and a multicultural lunch will be provided. RSVP is essential for

2. ‘As Father and Son’ Event Cancelled
Due to small numbers, the TWEC event ‘As Father and Son’ planned for 2

Hotel, Beaumont St, Hamilton. Join us as we welcome John Poon. John will share stories of
God's faithfulness in the midst of persecution of China’s Catholics. Looking forward to

3. Date Claimer: Council for Australian Catholic Women Colloquium 2016. “ Women
as Witnesses to the Joy of the Gospel: developing a more profound theology of women,
for women, by women.” 16-18 September 2016 at North Sydney. For more information,

4. Come and join the youth of the Chisholm region for the annual Spring Retreat being held
at Kilaben Bay Conference Centre 18 - 20 September. Finish the school term with a
weekend away with other young people taking time out from busy lives whilst having fun
and forming new friendships. To register fill out the registration form.
5. The Voice of the Unheard: Refugees/Asylum Seekers will be held on Sunday 27 September
at 1:30PM at St Patrick's Church, Grosvenor St, Sydney. Q&A in the Crypt with Jessie Taylor,
Melbourne lawyer and refugee advocate, Fr Aloysius Mowe SJ, Director, Jesuit Refugee
Service; MC, Fr Michael Whelan sm. No need to book, no charge.
6. Australian Pastoral Musicians Network National Conference will be held on Thursday 01
October at St James’ College, Spring Hill (Brisbane). Info & registration details following

7. Two Bishops’ Dialogue - Adults will be held on Thursday 01 October at 6:30 PM at Therry
Centre, East Maitland. P 4979 1117.
8. Ecumenical Prayer Service in the Spirit of Taizé will be held on Sunday 11 October at 7:00
PM at St Columban's Church, Mayfield. The service is followed by a light supper. For more

9. Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Professionals Mass will be held on Friday 16 October at
7:00 PM at Corpus Christi Church, Platt St, Waratah. Followed by refreshments in the parish
hall. All welcome.
10. Catalyst for Renewal Dinner will be held on Friday 23 October at 7:00PM at Villa Maria
Parish Hall cnr Mary St and Gladesville Rd Hunters Hill. Fr Frank Brennan SJ AO will speak
on "Why Pope Francis is Not an Anti-Capitalist Greenie". Come join us in stimulating and
animated discussion over a delicious two-course meal. $50 per person, BYO drinks.

11. 'And who is my neighbour?' Recognising, reflecting upon and responding to sexual abuse
within the Catholic Church workshop will be held on Monday 02 November at Aquinas
