Assembly of Catholic Professionals Luncheon with guest speaker Sr Mary Leahy
rsj will be held on Thursday 20 November at 12:00 PM at The Newcastle Club, 40
Newcomen St, Newcastle. Cost is $99 + gst. Sr Mary Leahy is a Sister of St
Joseph who hails from County Cork, Ireland, and came to Australia as a missionary
in 1979. After 20 years of ministry, Mary received an OAM and this year she was
appointed by the Holy See to the role of Regional Co-ordinator for the Apostleship
of the Sea in the region of Oceania. All are welcome to register. Please visit

2. Bringing Baby Home workshop
Bringing Baby Home is a two-day workshop for couples who are expecting a new
baby or have young children. Workshops are led by supportive facilitators who
have been trained to assist expecting couples and new parents.
The next Bringing Baby Home workshop commences 6 December 2014. Limited

1. Singin' In The Kitchen Community Choir will be held on Tuesday 11 November at 4:00 PM
at Uniting Church, Glebe Road, Merewether. Everyone is welcome to come to the choir
on Tuesdays from 4 pm. It will be a time for singing, fun and laughter, meeting new

2. St Mary’s High School Gateshead 50th Jubilee Mass & Luncheon will be held on Saturday
15 November beginning at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 841 Hunter Street,
Newcastle West. Past and current students and special guests of St Mary's High School
Gateshead community are invited to the 50th Jubilee Mass and Celebration Luncheon.
The cost of the luncheon (including drinks) is $20.00. Payment can be made by cash,

3. Choral Evensong and Book Launch will be held on Sunday 16 November at 6:00 PM at
Christ Church Cathedral, Church St, Newcastle. Ecumenical friends join with the Dean to
warmly invite you to attend Choral Evensong in Christ Church Cathedral followed at
6.45pm by a book launch by Bishop Richard Appleby of "Pilgrims of Hope - An

6. Kidsflix Event - 'Planes: Fire and Rescue' free movie will be held on Saturday 22 November

7. 150th Anniversary of St Augustine’s, Myers Flat will be held on Sunday 23 November at
Sailors Gully Rd, Bendigo, VIC. We invite you to join us in celebrating 150 years of the

9. Human Rights and Social Justice Lecture will be held on Wednesday 26 November at 1:00
PM at Great Hall, University of Newcastle, Callaghan. With 2014 marking the 25th
anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the
impending release of the report on Children in Immigration Centres, this year's lecture will
focus on the rights of children and will be delivered by Professor Gillian Triggs. RSVP to

10. Pure Flame 'Full Filled' Life Teen Retreat will be held on Friday 28 November at 4302 Nelson
