Job Description Job Title: Marketing Specialist - London Submit Resume to: Recruiting@spe.org SUMMARY To assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies, executing and measuring the success of marketing initiatives and overseeing the production of promotional materials. In addition, this position will be required to establish and maintain business relationships, formulate and monitor budget allocations and provide regular management reports. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities Assisting in the development of marketing strategies using the full marketing mix to promote events for the SPE Europe, Russia, Caspian and Sub-Saharan Africa office Managing all marketing aspects for assigned SPE events Managing and creating email broadcasts for assigned events Segmenting/selecting data for email and mail communication Working with the US based design department to develop and assist with the overall design layout for various marketing material Developing an effective marketing plan from a pre-planning brief with the event managers Working with the event and design teams to create direct-mail campaigns and printed pieces Proof reading and copywriting for assigned events Coordinating the mailing of campaigns Gathering quotes where necessary and preparing and monitoring the allocations of budgets for each assigned project Preparing marketing schedules and adhering to deadlines Ensuring websites are constantly kept up-to-date in terms of content relating to events and the region Evaluating marketing campaign results, and recommending future action Secondary Responsibilities Working with the Managing Director, Europe, Russia, Caspian and Sub-Saharan Africa to help support regional marketing efforts for local programmes Working with the US based design department to develop artwork for brochures Ensuring the integrity of SPE’s logo in all marketing collateral Working with the US based social media department to ensure event presence on all appropriate social media portals Performing other duties as assigned Member/Staff Relations Staff exhibition booths as required, communicating with members/non-members on SPE’s products and services Willingness to travel occasionally as required Working collaboratively with various teams understanding the projects and advising on marketing plans and timelines SKILLS AND ABILITIES Understand basic marketing principles; have ability to apply and pro-actively manage multiple projects. Team player Strong communicator Ability to write excellent English Strong attention to detail Copywriting and proof-reading skills Understanding of advertising and general business concepts Cultural dexterity – ability to meet people at all levels well in a variety of settings Well-travelled with an understanding of various cultures, customs and business practices Job Description Project Management with a track record of meeting KPIs and aggressive deadlines for large projects Experience working in a fast paced environment Employ strong computer skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office COMMUNICATION SKILLS Must be able to write and speak clearly and persuasively both within SPE and external stakeholder organisations. Ability to write presentations, draft reports, write press releases, speeches, copy and generate correspondence at an executive level. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet the requirements listed of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Experience of events and/or publishing marketing experience is essential, using direct marketing channels and measuring and reporting success. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelors’ degree required and sufficient related experience within a marketing function in areas related to professional associations and/or events. Oil and gas industry experience is desirable but not essential. REPORTING PROCEDURES The employee will report directly to the Marketing Manager – Europe, Russia, Caspian and SubSaharan Africa for vacation, sick leave and other authorised absences from the office.
