The purposes of the Prestudy Phase is to
ensure, that the business idea
• is technically and commercially feasible
• fulfills customer requirements
• is aligned with the organization’s business direction
=> preparatory phase before the project is formally
started

The purposes of the Feasibility Study
Phase is to
• decide on a project strategy
• define the project goals
• prepare project plans
=> preparations for successful project completion
are made

The purposes of the Execution Phase is to
• ensure, that the project is managed, performed
and completed in a manner that fulfills the
organizations and the customer’s requirements
=> project is executed and the outcome is handed
over to the customer

The purposes of the Conclusion Phase
is to ensure, that
• the organization will have access to and be able to learn
from the experiences made and the competence achieved
in the project
=> project is formally closed
