ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The technician will be
required to set-up the various CNC equipment and tools in
the manufacturing lab. In addition, the technician will
manage the metrology equipment and tools in the inspection
area for student use. The technician will teach lab sections
as needed. The duties will also include the daily/weekly
maintenance of the CNC lathes and mills and related
equipment and supplies in the engineering lab and tool room.
Familiarity with HAAS and OKUMA machinery, including 4 &
5 Axis CNC Machining is a plus. Candidate should have a
working knowledge of CAD/CAM principles including 2D and
3D (Solids) CAD and typical industry standard CAM
packages. Must be hands-on type individual and be able to
work with minimal supervision
Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology,
Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial
Engineering, or Engineering Technology required. A
minimum of 3 years industrial experience with CNC
machining required.
SALARY: Grade 15, Step 1 $714.10 weekly plus fringe benefits.
AFSCME Unit classified. Pending state funding.

JOB AVAILABILITY
MTA/MCCC FACULTY UNIT POSITION
POSITION: Instructor or Assistant Professor (2 positions)
Mechanical Engineering Technology
RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional areas will include the overall
Mechanical Engineering Technology curriculum, but will focus on
programming and operating CNC lathes and mills. Familiarity with both
HAAS and OKUMA machinery. Position requires teaching courses in
quality assurance, Lean manufacturing, and 6 Sigma principles.
Candidate should have a working knowledge of CAD/CAM principles
including 2D and 3D (Solids) CAD and typical industry standard CAM
packages. Responsibilities also include measurement and inspection
and the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Engineering
Technology preferred. A minimum of 5 years industrial experience with
CNC machining and quality engineering required.
NOTE: Applicants with related Bachelor’s Degrees will be considered,
but a Master’s degree is required to earn tenure.
SALARY: $38,464 - $60,000 dependent upon qualifications and
experience in accordance with the MCCC Collective Bargaining
Agreement. (Contract period of 160 days). Pending state funding.
