President’s Message
Let’s hope this year we don’t have any weather surprises like Irene or Sandy so our fall foliage can be
displayed in all its glory here in Florham Park. We had a beautiful day for our picnic in September and the
sandwiches and entertainment helped make a very enjoyable get-together of our club members. Again, a big
THANK YOU to our Hospitality Chairs Eileen & Vinnie Cerrato and Supply Purchasers, JoAnne and Tom
O’Brien, our volunteers Joe & Zehra Boorujy, Bridget Grennan, Elsie Hajdics, Jean McGuirk, Claire Mindnich,
Ruth Moolin and Bob Nann; as well as the many members who supplied the great desserts, and the tasty ices
supplied by Charlie Germershausen.
Please note: The last regular meeting for this year will be November 13th. Our Holiday Luncheon will
be on Wednesday, December 11th (see sign-up sheet in this Newsletter). We currently have 42 people signed
up so we will have our own bus going to the Sacred Heart Cathedral trip on Thursday, December 19th
(note the date).
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, have a wonderful Christmas and Chanukah Season, and may you enjoy good
health and happiness in 2014. Please also remember to contribute to our Seniors Helping Seniors so we can
help them through the Holiday Season.
Sincerely,
Charlene

Tables 3 and 4 will be responsible for clean-up for November (there are no meetings in December).
Thank you tables 1 and 2.
We feel we must once again define the responsibilities of the committee and table members:
The Hospitality Committee will assume the following responsibilities:
1. Set up the room
2. Make the coffee and distribute to the tables
3. Distribute any refreshments available for the meeting
The assigned tables will only be responsible for the clean-up as follows:
1. Collect coffee carafes and creamers and table numbers
2. Use large containers to collect garbage from tables
3. Collect and return any items to the kitchen and store in area provided
4. Wash and dry creamers carafes, large urns and put them away
Once again these duties are not new and we will expect the cooperation that we have always had in the
past.

If anyone is aware of a member who is ill or in the hospital, please call Rosalie Coll at 973-822-0610.
Telephone Tree
The Telephone Tree is used primarily for notification of the death of a club member or the member’s
immediate family. This is done so that we can individually extend our condolences and attend local services.
We also call in the event of the cancellation of a meeting, or some type of emergency heat or cold situation.
Our Telephone Tree starts out with three people: Sis Badcock, Eileen Cerrato and myself; each of us
calls nine people; and each of those nine call approximately six others so that we cover our entire membership.
We are all volunteers doing a service for our members.
If you are not being called or do not want to be called, please let me know so you can be added or
removed from the list.
In case of the death of a club member or someone in the member’s immediate family, please call
Charlene Sozansky at 973-822-3145, or, if she is not available please advise Eileen Cerrato at 973-822-2296.
Thanks.
