Associate Product Director, Rosacea Rx Business Unit Senior Director, Rx Commercial Business SUMMARY The Associate Product Director, Rosacea is responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing market strategy and achieving marketing targets for his/her designated marketing franchise. Specific responsibilities include business and market development; market research and planning; strategic direction for promotion and advertising; coordination with sales; and, hiring and directing the day-to-day activities of marketing staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Serve as a key member of the Rx Prescription Business Unit management team, participating in the development and implementation of the overall franchise plan. Develops the annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve franchise and company goals. Coordinates marketing efforts to ensure the sales team has appropriate marketing tools to include clinical reports, samples, feature/benefit materials, comparisons to competition, etc. Ensure that new products are in the development pipeline, coordinating with research and development and regulatory affairs to assure that products being developed are addressing market needs. Oversees and provides direction to market and competitor analysis. Ensures all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources. Recruit, train and develop staff, establishing and communicating performance goals, objectives and standards, appraising performance and recommending compensation actions. Provides marketing skills and expertise to the Company by building, developing and managing a marketing team capable of carrying out the necessary marketing strategies and tactics. Prepares presentations to explain the franchise’s current and future strategies. Work with market research to conduct market analysis and identify needs. Develop strategies, positioning, and messaging to address those market needs. Manage external agencies in support of the overall marketing plans. Develop comprehensive strategic and tactical plans along with the associated budgets to achieve franchise and company goals. Franchise P&L management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of franchise marketing team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training planning, assigning, directing, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for design and implementation of certain incentive pay programs for this unit. Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising. EXPERIENCE 5-10 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Completion of specific training courses and certain recommended classes may also be required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, employee or public groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
