NPRM on millimeter bands at 71-76 GHz, 81-86 GHz, and 92-95 GHz
71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz would be licensed, but with flexible rules
92-95 GHz would be unlicensed
Seeks input on bandplans and a variety of other regulatory and technical issues

US radar community wants very low DFS threshold to “protect” radars
Could impact WRC-03 Agenda Item 1.5 (globally harmonized allocation)
US industry representatives still trying to work out acceptable solution with NTIA
Potential (possibly major) impact on 802.11a
