ROLE
As a Frontend Developer reporting to the President Engineering, you will be involved in designing
and developing Oscar-AP the most flexible and intuitive end-to-end business analytics product
available.
Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will also support product innovation and
customer engagements, partner with the innovation, customer engagement and product
management teams to prototype and launch data-driven features and products.
As the role develops opportunities to contribute to both the Node.js (middleware) and the
Python/Scala (deep backend) code bases.
TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
Oscar AP is the world’s first precognitive analytics platform, providing rapid business foresight,
allowing users to foresee possible events before they occur with the patented technology Artificial
Precognition (AP). Using advanced machine learning designed to scale big data, Oscar AP is a
browser based analytics platform that automates data science allowing users to perform advanced
analytics in an interactive storydashboard. AP allows users to rapidly understand their data by
disclosing the hidden relationships in it. These relationships are then used to provide predictions
beyond the limits of standard predictive analytics. All this through simple point and click with no
coding whatsoever.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Frontend Developer you will have shared responsibility for:





The look and feel of the entire product
Participating in the full development cycle from innovation, feature or module inception, to
engineering production
Writing quality code while implementing your own ideas
Testing and bug fixing
Working closely with innovation and customer engagement teams and interacting with
other teams on a regular basis

REQUIREMENTS








MSc in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, computer science, physics or mathematics)
2+ years of hands-on experience in frontend development
Experience and confidence in writing technical code, not just CSS manipulation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong written and verbal
presentation
Proven ability to take ownership of a project with minimal supervision
Understanding statistics and associated algorithms is a bonus
Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Ability to learn new technologies, languages and tools quickly
