GNWFCU POSITION DESCRIPTION LOAN OFFICER I Reports to: VP of Lending or Loan Dept. Manager Hourly Pay Range: $13.00 an hour to $20.00 an hour D.O.E. Plus monthly incentive pay and possible quarterly incentive pay. Primary Purpose of Position: To make sound lending decisions. Individual financial counseling. Back-up Loan Clerk I and Loan Clerk II positions. Regular attendance is an essential requirement for this position. All other duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Make informed decisions on all loans within approved lending limits. 2. Lien look-ups. 3. FHA insurance reports. 4. Delinquent property tax report. 5. Process HELP loans. 6. 30 day delinquent letters and calls to members. 7. Minnesota Mutual monthly report. 8. Cross-selling of products and services. 9. Employees who are responsible for taking Mortgage loan applications or Loan Officer I Job Description 10/15/15 Pg. 1 answering members’ questions about Mortgages are required to be registered with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry). Employees must have a background search and be finger printed and approved, to receive their MLO number and be registered. The VP of Lending will be the lead for this requirement. 10. Employees responsible for selling or processing loans will have a set monthly goal for cross-selling Credit Life and Disability Insurances. These goals will be monitored and scored in reviews. 11. Incentives - Loan dept. has monthly loan and service incentives that are paid as follows: $25.00 per GAP sold - $25.00 per MBI sold - 1 months premium for sale of Life &/or Disability. 12. Following MIP procedures. Following all record keeping procedures ( loans over $10,000. Not secured by real estate). 13. Must comply with the credit union's BSA/AML/OFAC policy as required by the position. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Desired: Typically, 2 years minimum experience in lending. 3 years experience in a financial institution or GNWFCU. A High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrates excellent communication skills and the ability to work successfully with the public and other employees in a frequently stressful environment. Demonstrates a high degree of self motivation and strong decision making skills. Experience in lending, sales, and customer/member service. Employees of GNWFCU must possess mobility and stamina to work in a standard office setting. Employee must be able to use standard office equipment. At times some employees may have to lift items up to 30 pounds. Part of the job requirements may include the need to stand or sit for long periods of time. Some employees may need the ability to raise arms above their head. Employees should have adequate hearing and speech to communicate with our members and/or staff on the phone, in person or through the drive-thru speaker systems.
