Zbană About thesis The most common way to increase performance is simply by using a “motivation system” – directly linking employee KPIs with monetary incentives. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can be a powerful tool for employers when it comes to creating a work environment that fosters employee motivation and drive. Purpose of Research This research paper is intended to evaluate the place, role and appropriateness, in terms of added economic benefits based on KPI management tools for evaluating the performance and motivating of employees in agricultural businesses. Specific Objectives of Research To reach this goal, the following specific objectives are to be targeted: Perform an analysis of academic resources relating to foundations of employees’ motivation management, including concepts, theories and models of motivation management; Define and characterize the specifics of KPIs as a tool for employees performance measurement and motivation; Contrast KPIs with other existing motivation tools and identify its strengths and weaknesses (advantages and disadvantages); Try to identify (if possible) whether human resources in agricultural sector have any specifics and peculiarities, in terms of needs and motivation, compared with other economic sectors; Based on the findings in the above, provide suggestions and recommendations for setting an effective and flawless KPIs-based performance management system for motivation of employees in agriculture-related businesses; Quantify (if possible) the economic benefits from implementing a KPIs motivation system in an agriculturerelated business. Structure of Research In accordance with the requirements of the Guide on the elaboration of master papers, this research paper will be structured in three main chapters, as follows: Theory-related chapter that will deal with theoretical concepts on motivation and performance management; Analysis-related chapter that will provide, based on the data and findings in the previous chapter, insights on how to better structure and implement a KPIs motivation system; Practice-related chapter that will try to apply the results of the research in the case of an actual enterprise.
