Greek God Mini Research Project God/Goddess: Project DUE Weds Feb 11th In Greek mythology, the gods often represented different forms of nature. Their religion/mythology had no formal structure with the exception of various festivals held in honor of the gods. There was no sacred book or code of conduct to live by. The most powerful Greek gods were known as the Olympians. The Greeks believed the Olympians lived on the highest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus. Research: There are many Greek gods, your job is to research one and teach the class about your god or goddess. You must create a monologue to teach the class the following information about your god or goddess: Provide background information on your god/goddess. What area of nature or life was his/her special responsibility? What powers did he/she possess? What special qualities marked his/her appearance or dress? What animal or plant was associated with him/her? Did he/she have any quirks in personality or appearance? What objects were associated with him/her? What is most interesting about your god/goddess? This monologue does not need to memorized, but it must be rehearsed and you must be familiar with your text (i.e. get your head out of the script!) You can use the audience as your focal point and talk to us directly, or choose another god or mortal with whom to speak.
