Want Ads for the Greek Immortals
The poor immortals of ancient Greece! People have stopped believing in them.
Now they have to find a new line of work, which will allow them to support
themselves! But how will they do that? By writing a classified ad, of course.
In this assignment, you will be assigned a Greek god, goddess, or supernatural
being. You will have one day in the computer lab to research him or her.
Then, write a classified ad in which he or she advertises his or her unique
abilities. For example, the enchantress Circe had a habit of turning her dinner
guests into pigs. Her want ad might say:
Looking for work – I am a beautiful Greek lady looking for
catering work. I am an excellent hostess, having frequently given
large dinner parties. I will have your guests “oinking” for more
with my magical cooking abilities. You will eat like a pig when I
cook for you! (I really mean it.) Please call me at 2-BE-A-PIG.
