STATUS OF OPEN ACTION ITEMS
AMS2700: CP-SAT to develop a proposal to submit to Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
Committee B via Bob Koukol. The proposal is to replace Type IV water with distilled water in
AMS2700 paras 3.2.1.2 and 3.2.1.3.1.
AC7108 allows the use of deionized water of ≤5µS where the specification calls out distilled
water. Request TG to make request to SAE Committee B.
Motion made by Jim Ringer and seconded by Jonathan Hebben to close this for CP-SAT as it is
being addressed by the Task Group. All in favour
Supplier Support Committee (SSC) Representative: The CP-SAT voted to nominate Eric
Jacklin as the designated SSC representative and Tammi Schubert as the alternate
representative should Eric not be able to attend and ask for ratification from the Task Group
Chairperson and CP Lead Staff Engineer. Eric and Tammi are long standing active voting
members of the CPTG.
Action Item: Eric Jacklin to check with the SSC about the opportunity for a Commodity to have an
Alterrnate Representative whrn the normal SSC Representative is not available (Due Date: 20-Feb2016)
Auditor Consistency: There seems to be a lot of audits, including initial audits that have zero
major NCRs. Is there any correlation with auditors that attend the annual auditor conference and
the number of NCRs raised by those auditors? Request that the Auditor Consistency team look
into this.

UNCONFIRMED
Visual Acceptance Requirements: Concern that product is being rejected at Subscribers
because the new engineers don’t understand the final product and what is and is not acceptable,
e.g. masking line creep, undefined FOD, colour of conversion coating and undyed anodize.
Specifications and drawings do not typically define these items. Need to build a matrix of process
and acceptable conditions that are being rejected.
Charles Costello brought a list of examples to the CP-SAT regarding visual inspection rejections.
Need to gather some pictures of acceptable parts that were rejected and put together a
presentation to the Task Group to show the issues and this could then be flowed to the supply
chain.
Action Item: All Suppliers to email color pictures to Charles Costello, to include spec number
acceptance requirements and reason for rejection.
Action Item: Charles Costello to compile a presentation of the examples and forward to Nigel
Cook for review at the next CP-SAT meeting.
Alternative Representation for NMC Representative: The Nadcap Management Council
(NMC) representative has voting rights at the NMC level and is also required to participate at
meeting between the scheduled Task Group meetings. Due to the commitment required to
support NMC activities the representative is not always available to attend the regular Task
Group meetings.
Motion made by Jerry Wahlin and seconded by Dennis Reidy to request an alternate reprentative
position for the NMC Representative. Motion Passed.
If this is agreed it was also decided to allow Jim Cummings to select his alternate.
Jim Cummings confirmed there was nothing presently in the NMC command media for alternates.
Motion Closed.

NEW BUSINESS
ASTM D4060: Dave Serbousek has been working with a representative from Taber and drafted
an alternative to ASTM D4060 for hard coatings. Update to be provided at the next meeting
Electronic Signatures on Certs: A couple of United States Subscribers require original
signatures but generally people accept electronic signatures. There is nothing in AC7108 that
requires an original signature and so this is not a CP issue.
Paint Adhesion Problems: Suppliers are seeing adhesion failures on water based primers on
7050 materials.
AMS-QQ-P-416 Rev D: The specification contains errors in the de-embrittlement table:
