Mikrotik router setup

If there have been previous setups, then:




Press and hold RES button on the router,
Keep it pressed, disconnect and reconnect the routers power source,
Keep it pressed for about 5 seconds till action led on router starts blinking,
Now routers configuration - default.
Connect to router - in web browsers address bar – 192.168.88.1
In window that opens user – admin, without password
Choose winbox
Open winbox program
Connect to: from IP Address column choose MAC address (that one with letters)
Next field – admin, then Connect
Opens widow that offers to setup default configuration. Router will work with it.
To configure it by yourself – Remove configuration
After some changes connection with router will be lost. Just reconnect using Winbox.
Interfaces
Open ether1 and give it a name. - OK
Select wlan1 – turn it on
Bridge – add a bridge
Add ports to bridge
IP – Addresses.
IP - DHCP Server
Give IP’s for WAN and LAN
DHCP setup – select interface at which DHCP will work - next
Write in Address space - next
LAN’s gateway - next
Address pool - next
DNS server IP – 8.8.8.8 – google dns server - next
IP lease time - next - DHCP server setup finished
IP – Routes
Show gateways IP that gives internet
IP – FIREWALL – NAT tab – Add
In general tab – Chain – srcnat
In action tab Action – src-net, To Addresses – WAN address
Access router just from LAN
IP – FIREWALL - Filter Rules – Add
General tab Chain – Input, In.Interface - WAN
Change user password
System – Users Double click admin –
Password - to set password
Remove – to delete user
Add to create new user
Groups tab – you can create groups and set their permissions.
