SCHOOL DESCRIPTION: (Provide a short description of your school.)
St. James School is a 106 year old Roman Catholic facility associated with the Archdiocese of
Louisville in Jefferson County, Kentucky. St. James was accredited by the Kentucky Non-Public
School Commission in the spring of 2006. The school serves students three years of age through
grade eight. The Msgr. Horrigan Learning Center educates over 90 three and four year olds. All
programs follow the recommended curriculum of the Archdiocese. Classes are offered in religion,
Spanish, music, art, library science, physical education and computer literacy. Catholic students in
the early grades are afforded the opportunity to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and
Eucharist. Students in grades six, seven and eight may receive the sacrament of Confirmation every
third year. Students in grades K – 8 attend a weekly liturgy at St. James. A government sponsored
hot lunch program is offered daily throughout the school year calendar. Opportunities are offered to
students to perform on stage in teacher directed plays and programs which are usually scheduled in
the fall and the spring. A family does not have to be of the Catholic faith to attend St. James School.
St. James motto is Soaring Above with th following core values: a.) modeling faith; b.) embracing
faith; c.) respecting diversity; d.) differentiating instruction; e.) celebrating tradition.
SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT:
St. James teachers and staff are committed to providing students of different cultures and abilities a

internet safety and follow
school rules regarding those
issues.
Needs Assessment
Students need continuous instruction on internet safety.
Strategies
The school will use
netscape.com, I-Safe and
child connection programs for
all students.
The month of October will be
designated internet safety and
technology teacher will have
special instruction for all
grades.
2. Regulate student use of
media communication (facebook, twitter, email, texting,
etc.)
No policy of record exists for
St. James concerning social
media communication
6
School committee and staff will
develop a policy to regulate
use of social network
programs.

Goals: In this section include the goals your school has set based on the need to include all
students.
Needs Assessment: In this section include the results of your needs assessment. Does equity in
the use of technology exist in your school from grade level to grade level? Have you planned a
continuum of skill development across grade levels? Is technology used during instruction to
integrate multiple learning styles? Are technology tools used to accommodate students with learning
differences? Are all students invited to participate in a Student Technology Leadership Program?
Action Plan: What is the timeline for action to realize the goals you have set? Be specific. What are
