entry students of AY0405 intake
Dear EE3 and CPE3 students,
Kindly take note of the following important announcement regarding module
registration for sem2, AY0506:
1. Registration in CORS
Please take note of the various dates and activities for each bidding round as stated in the
CORS website http://www.cors.nus.edu.sg. Round 0 will commence on 27 Dec 05 (Tue) at 9
am.
You should refer to the study schedule at
http://www.ece.nus.edu.sg/students/secondyr/recommendedschedule.htm before bidding in
CORS.
2. Pre-allocation of Core modules
EE3 and CPE3 students of AY0304 intake: You will be pre-allocated with EE2011 if you
have not taken it in sem1.
Poly direct-entry students of AY0405 Sem1 intake: You will be pre-allocated with EE2009
and EE2010.
Poly direct-entry students of AY0405 Sem2 intake: You will be pre-allocated with EE2007
and EE2009 + EE2011.
Students who wish to take EE2001, EE3001 and EG1415 will have to bid for these modules
via CORS.
The Module Planner is just a guide to assist in planning your study schedule and determining
the quotas. All Students including those who have completed the module planner will still
need to bid for those modules via CORS. For the updated list of technical electives in
various concentrations, please refer to

NOTE 1: The core modules will be pre-allocated to you if you have fulfilled their prerequisites. Hence, you do not need to bid for these modules in CORS. 1 bid point will be
deducted from your program account for each pre-allocated module. It is students'
responsibility to ensure there are no clashes in timetable (lecture, tutorial and lab) for all the
modules.
NOTE 2: If you have failed any EE2 core modules and would like to re-take them in Sem2,
AY0506, please complete an add/drop form at the ECE general office.
NOTE 3: The timetable for EE2 modules are found at Year 2 class timetable at
http://www.ece.nus.edu.sg/programmes/timetable/
3. Tutorial and Lab Groups Registration
Tutorial registration for EE2 modules will begin from 9 Jan to 12 Jan 06 (same period as
CELC tutorial registration) via CORS. You are allowed to add/drop/swap your tutorial groups
only via CORS. You have to register for your tutorial groups via CORS for ALL your EE2 preallocated modules.
Laboratory registration for EE2 modules is done via
http://online.ece.nus.edu.sg/ece2labgroup/ from 16 Jan to 18 Jan 06. The ECE2 lab
schedule will be uploaded at the second year student website
http://www.ece.nus.edu.sg/students/secondyr/secondyr.htm sometime next week.
Note 4: You should check the class timetable and laboratory schedule carefully before you
register for your tutorial and laboratory group so as to avoid any clashes in timetable. Requests
for tutorial/laboratory group changes will NOT be entertained after add/drop/swap period.
4. University Level Requirement (ULR) modules
Students who wish to take GEMs and/or ULR Breadth modules have to ensure that the
timetables of these modules do NOT clash with the class (lecture, tutorial & lab) and
examination timetables of their essential modules.
5. Request to Exceed Maximum Workload
Pl take note that the maximum workload is a total of 25 MCs per semester. Although you
are strongly advised not to overload yourself in the coming semester, if you wish to increase
your semestral workload to above 25 MCs, you must do so prior to the start of CORS by
seeking approval from the Year 3 Academic Coordinator, A/Prof Tan Kay Chen
(eletankc@nus.edu.sg). Please email your (i) supporting reasons; (ii) AY0506 sem2 and
AY0607 workplan (module code, title and its respective MCs - please check against CORS for
the most updated MCs) (iii) Total MCs for AY0506 sem2 and (iv) personal details (matric no,
course code, current CAP) to the Year-Coordinator.
