COUNCIL:
MAYOR HENFEY thanked the Elks Lodge, Police, Fire, Public Works and Recreation
Departments for their help with the Easter Egg Hunt. All had a good time. The Elks put
in a lot of effort each year for this event. The Wildwood Catholic HS Splash-for-Cash
will be held Saturday, April 17 at 12 Noon at 15th & Beach.
PUBLIC:
JIM KOCH, 1301 Surf Avenue, asked if the City has enough money to pay for the
Bond Ordinance that was introduced tonight without raising taxes, with Mayor Henfey
responding that it is an impossible question to answer because of so many other reasons
that could raise taxes also. Koch asked if the parking regulations in Ordinance 1581 can
be supersede state regulations, with Henfey and Solicitor Kaufmann explaining that the
State has adopted a new law allowing municipalities to change their own laws regarding
parking distances. Koch asked if the City will paint over all the yellow curbs, with the
response being that the Public works Department will do it in the midst of working on
other projects. Reducing these distances will be a benefit to shore communities by
adding more parking spaces.
EVERETT MCCORKELL, 410 E. 13th Avenue, asked if the plastic put down at 15th
& Beach will stay there, with Mayor Henfey responding that it will eventually be
replaced by concrete. The City is getting prices now and a claim has been filed with
FEMA because that area was damaged in the storm.
ADJOURNMENT:
On a motion by Koehler, seconded by McCullion, that there being no further business
before Council, we do now adjourn. Carried.
7:20 P.M.
