Ray Notley is a mature, well-honed individual with many years of experience within the project controls
environment.
He has extensive experience of planning and controlling a multitude of diverse projects and is a versatile,
honourable individual of the highest integrity. He is able to transcend the gap between client and contractor
domains and able to operate comfortably in both environments.
Raymond has a proven ability to get things done within the confines of safety, cost and time and quality. He can
work equally well as a leader or as a team member and is an easy to get along with individual whilst maintaining
a no-nonsense approach to the work.

Career
Thirty-Seven years of diversified planning experience ranging from shop floor ‘Methods’ planning, using manual
techniques to more sophisticated C.P.M. computerised planning. A large portion of experience gained in a project
planning capacity ranging from refineries to North Sea production and drilling facilities, with emphasis on the latter.
Experience is spread from Home Office to actual onsite experience in the British and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea.

CAREER HISTORY
2012 - Present
Several short term contracts for a number of clients.
Projects included a Steel making plant for Saudi Arabia (putting together a proposal schedule using Primavera P6) and a
Gas gathering Plant for Ireland ( in an advisory capacity to the client) and a Polyethylene plant for India (compiling a level
2 schedule using Primavera P6).
2011 BECHTEL UK WEST NILE DELTA PROJECT (EGYPT)
Senior Planning Engineer working as part of a team compiling a critical path schedule for EPC of an onshore Gas
Processing Plant. The schedule was produced using Primavera P6.
2010 - 11 OMV VIENNA (AUSTRIA)
Planning Consultant to a major Austrian Oil Company, duties covered
Writing of a Planning Guideline, advising on planning matters, evaluation of schedules for various projects throughout the
World ranging from Kazakhstan to Yemen. Systems used Primavera P3 and P6
2008 - 10 BECHTEL (BOUROUGE 3 POLYETHYLENE PLANTS), MILAN AND ABU DHABI
As senior Planning Engineer Resident in Milan for three months overseeing the planning efforts of the FEED contractor.
Later moved to Abu Dhabi to continue with the overall Project Planning.
System used was Primavera P6.
2008 ODE (OFFSHORE DESIGN ENGINEERS) KINGSTON SURREY
Senior Planning Engineer responsible for a selection of Offshore schedules.
Systems used included Primavera P3,P6 and Microsoft Project
2008 BRITISH GAS READING (BERKS)
Senior Planning Engineer responsible for producing Field development Schedules for a discovery in Nigeria.

2007 - 2008 KBR (SURREY)
Senior Planning Engineer responsible for producing a FEED schedule for EPC 3 Island Execution Plan for the Kashagan
field Development in the Caspian sea region of Kazakhstan.

Senior Planning Engineer formulating Design , Procurement and Construction Schedules for a Nitrogen Generator for the
Isle of Grain (UK).

Senior Planning Engineer producing EPC plans for a variety of Pharmaceutical Plants.

2006 KBR LEATHERHEAD (SURREY)
Short term assignment as Senior Planning Engineer assisting an established team of Planning Engineers with front end
planning of an oil production facility.
2005 KBR BRENTFORD (MIDDX.) AGIP KASHAGAN PROJECT
Senior Planning Engineer responsible for producing Concept selection schedules for the Full Field Development of the
Kashagan Field in Kazakhstan.

2004 BP CHP (COMBINED HEAT & POWER PLANT) FAWLEY
Senior Planning Engineer brought on the Project by BP to schedule the Commissioning Activities. This was a short term
assignment. System used was Microsoft Project 2003.
2004 SILVERTECH UK (BRITANNIA PROJECT)
Senior Planning Engineer reporting to the technical Manager. Company producing system Controls for an offshore
complex. System used was Primavera P3.
2004 AMEC OIL AND GAS (De Ruyters Project)
Lead Planning Engineer for FEED on PetroCanada’s De Ruyters oil production platform and pipeline.
Project details:

Production of a critical path logic network

Fully resourced along with progress curves and manpower histograms.

Progress was reported on an “earned value” basis.
 Attendance at weekly Client meetings to present progress.
Planning system used was Primavera P3.
2002 - 4 SAIPEM ENERGY INTERNATIONAL
Planning Engineer for design of five Jackets for offshore Nigeria along with associated Topsides and Pipeline. Scope
included putting together a CPM network using Primavera P3, monitoring and reporting progress to management,
attending client meetings and entailed some travelling to Paris to complete the work.
2001 - 2 KELLOG BROWN & ROOT
Employed as Senior Planning Engineer within the proposals group:

Developed proposal schedules for a variety of Petro-Chemical Projects
 Worked on claims evaluation (forensic planning analysis).
System used Primavera P3.
2000 - 1 TURNER & TOWNSEND
Employed as Senior consultant (Contract) on Claims evaluation of a motorway located in Scotland. The claim was in
excess of £16 million. Continued to undertake various forensic schedule analyses for a variety of Clients.
Systems used included MS Project, Primavera P3 and Power Project.
2000 BECHTEL RAIL DIVISION (UK)
Worked on a number of Rail franchise proposals, later acted as Lead Planner (contract) on the Thameslink 2000 Project.
Systems used included Primavera P3.

Planning Engineer (Contract)

Design and construction of a fast rail link to the Channel Tunnel.

Evaluation of tenders and negotiations with contractors

Put a contract in place for the construction of a fast rail link from London to the Channel Tunnel.
1998 - 9 BECHTEL / TECHNIP (PARIS FRANCE)
Planning Engineer (Contract). ADNOC Gas Sweetening Plant OGDII.
Contract covered Design Engineering, Procurement and Construction of an expansion to existing facilities. Working in
Paris as part of the joint venture between Bechtel and Technip duties covered putting together logic networks for the
home office scope of work (10,000 activities), Risk Analysis and reporting, with specific responsibility for Procurement
controls / reporting.
Systems used included Primavera P3, Microsoft Excel version 97, and Primavera Montecarlo Risk Package.
1997 - 8 BIOCOMPATIBLES INTERNATIONAL. (FARNHAM, SURREY)
Planning Engineer(Contract).
Using Microsoft Project version 4 (as a personal licensed user),to produce project plans for the research and manufacture
of Cardio Vascular Stents for surgical implanting in humans. Working with research and development medical scientists in
developing state of the art medical devices from design concepts to full blown manufacture. Responsible to the director of
operations. Obtained certificates and completed training for the use of Primavera P3 and Microsoft Project (version 4).
1996 - 7 LONDON & CONTINENTAL ENGINEERING (LONDON).
Planning Engineer (contract). Channel Tunnel Rail Link.
One of two planning engineers putting together an enquiry package for the London Tunnels aspect of the St Pancras to
Folkstone rail extension.
Systems used: - Primavera version 2 for windows,Suretrak and Microsoft Excel.
1994 - 6 COSTAIN FUEL SUBSEA ENGINEERING (SURREY)
Planning/Cost Engineer (contract). B.P Foinaven Project
Subsequently Production Manager for the Schiehallion field. As the responsible project planning engineer for the
company’s involvement in the FOINAVEN field tasks included the production of networks / plans for the design and
fabrication of SUBSEA diverless connections for oil applications.
Produced progress monitoring systems and was responsible for producing weekly / monthly reports. Later Site
Representative to oversee the onsite manufacture of the SUBSEA units, detailed machining & planning.
Systems used included Primavera, Suretrak, Microsoft Excel.
1994 BRITISH OXYGEN PROCESS PLANTS (SURREY)
Senior Planning Engineer (contract)
Responsible for putting together several proposals for the Engineering procurement and construction of a variety of Air
separation plants.
Systems used were Primavera, and Microsoft Excel.
