Job Description Manufacturing Technician/Field Installer Date: Signatures Employee Name: Accepted by: Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager Mgr./Supervisor: Department: Manufacturing Human Resources: Location: Fremont, CA Job Summary: The Manufacturing Technician/Field Installer, under minimum supervision of the Manufacturing Manager shall perform production assembly operations in addition to test operations on electrical, electronic, mechanical components and sub-assemblies. Also perform field installation and repair of robotic medical devices. The Manufacturing Technician/Field Installer is required to follow all their functions while maintaining compliance to Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Quality System (QSR’s) and International Organization of Standards (ISO) 13485:2003. Travel Requirements: This position will require domestic and international travel to support field installations and the company’s objectives which is expected to be up to 25%. Job Responsibilities: Performs various production assembly operations on electrical, electronic, mechanical components and sub-assemblies. Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools and power tools. Install electrical, mechanical, electronic parts and hardware in assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools. Read engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly. Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as electronic voltmeters. Analyze and record test results, and prepare written testing documentation Other duties or special projects required in order to meet company’s objectives. Travel to customer sites (hospitals) to set up and verify installation of surgical robot system. Page 1 of 2 Job Description Manufacturing Technician/Field Installer Qualifications: Skills Required: Must be able to read and write basic English, perform basic math, comprehend instructions, and verbally communicate in the English language. Have the ability to perform assignments that are moderately complex in nature. Must be able to read and understand assembly prints, parts list, wiring diagrams and wiring lists. Have the ability to identify components and read schematics. Prefer soldering skills and basic computer skills: DOS, Windows, and Linux. Education and Experience Requirements Prefer two-year degree (Associate's or technical certification) in electronics/ advanced mechanics/software or an equivalent combination of education and experience in medical devices with QSR/FDA ISO 13485:2003 or in a highly regulated assembly\test environment.
