ABOUT YOUR STUDY GUIDE: Your MyStudyGroup101 study guide is designed to be a complete course for your exam. It is also designed to be cost efficient and convenient – you can study anywhere and at anytime from your PC, Tablet, or phone! The study guide portion of the document will be page 5 through 132. The remaining pages are support documents such as quizzes, review bullets, charts, pictures, memory joggers, flashcards, and textbook chapter summaries from the recommended textbooks. You may utilize these documents to enhance your study. This study guide is a PDF document and on a computer screen, contains a clickable index that will display on the left side of your screen. Click on the ‘Bookmark’ icon in the left column to view the index. If using a phone or tablet, you may not be able to view the index due to limitations of the PDF reader programs available for these device formats. Use the Table of Contents for page reference. PRINTING: We recommend that you print only the study guide section of your study guide and review the support documents from your screen. If you choose to print your study guide, you should review the entire contents before deciding which pages to print. If using an outside printing service, make a list of the pages you want printed. We do recommend purchasing the practice exams at this time. Find a quiet spot where you can study with minimal interruptions and set aside a few hours each day for study only. Review the content guide outline and read through the ‘study guide’ portion of your MyStudyGroup101 study guide – this is page 5 through 132. Take practice exam A as a pretest and review your answers. Don’t be discouraged if you do not score well on the practice exams. A score in the 60’s - low 70’s has been found to be high enough to pass the exam in most instances. The practice exams are an excellent study tool. While going over the practice exam, read all of the rationales-even the ones that were not the correct answers, as they may give you more info about other areas. Anything that was unfamiliar, look up – either in your study guide or even Google! Break down the questions by subject & score yourself on each section, then focus more on the areas you scored poorest in. Beginning with section one of your study guide, and with your content guide outline close by, reread the first section. After each section, locate the associated practice quizzes in your study guide. Practice quizzes begin on page 133. Take several quizzes and note your scores. If you are doing well, go on to the next section. Take note of all the meds listed in the content guide. Review uses, side effects, nursing considerations & antidote if there is one. Take note of any nursing diagnosis noted in the content guide outline. Review these nursing diagnosis and note interventions, goals, and treatments. Check out some of the YouTube videos on some of the different disorders / diseases – search specific keywords. After working your way through all the sections, take practice exam B as a post test. Again, do not be discouraged if you do not score well – rarely does anyone ‘pass’ the practice exams. Repeat numbers 3, 4, and 5 with practice exam B. Audio Review is available for all nursing exams. You can utilize the audio while doing other tasks such as driving, cooking, cleaning, or working out. The exams are not easy! They are college level courses! Consider joining our Face Böök group and other groups of EC students, where you can find additional resources and information in the files section and ask questions of students who are going through the same exams as you are.
