HCC Basic Eagle Online Faculty Training Guide How to Change Your Profile Settings in Eagle Online 2 Why would you want to change your profile settings? Changing your profile settings gives you the opportunity to share your photo, your interests, your hobbies, and many other things you might want the students to know about you. This gives you, the professor, an even greater sense of presence in the course. 1.
On your home page, in the settings block, click on My profile settings. 2.
In the drop‐down menu that appears, click on Edit profile. HCC CTLE | 2013 1 3.
The editing portion will automatically fill in your first name, last name, and email address. If it doesn’t, then fill this information in. 4.
Choose how, or if, you want your email address displayed to others in the course. Just a note‐ if you choose “allow everyone to see my email address”, then everyone that is in Eagle Online will be able to see your email address. Note: It is advisable to keep the email format to the default setting of “Pretty HTML format”. 5.
Select your other choices for your email. 6.
Enter your city and country (this may be filled in by default), time zone, and preferred language. 7.
In the “description” box, enter information about yourself you would like to share with your students. HCC CTLE | 2013 2 8.
Next, you can upload a photo of yourself to be displayed as your profile picture. Either click on add, and then browse for your photo, or open up the file your photo is located in on the same desktop (keeping the editing tool open) and simply drag and drop the files into the box with the blue arrow. 9.
You may add a description, which will display with your photo. (such as Dr. Smith, Biology Professor) 10. In the “Interests” section, type in the things you are interested in that you would like students to know, such as your hobbies. 11. In the “Optional” section, fill in any of the optional information you would like to share with your students. 12. Click on Update profile and return to your course. Your changes will be saved.
