P.1 School’s Description and Situation:
Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir (SNSVM) was founded on 12 th May 1986 by the women’s organization ‘’SHREE SATSANG SADAN’’,
Kolkata, parent body of disciples of Gurudev Sant NANDLAL. SNSVM has made stupendous progress in these years to become a full
fledged Plus Two school. Today it is recognized as one of the best schools in the town with modern teaching facilities and a team of
dedicated and committed staff with strength of around1500 students fulfilling the KEY requirements of the community.
School characteristics:
School is governed by the women’s organization of ‘Shree Satsang Sadan’, Kolkata.
School is affiliated to CBSE, NEW DELHI up to SENIOR SECONDARY level. This is a Co-educational English medium School catering to
the needs of a semi- urban society of GHATSILA & nearby places.
The school is divided into five segments:NUR – Std III , Std IV - Std V, Std VI – Std VIII , Std IX – Std X and Std XI- Std XII .
School Location:
School is centrally located and is very close to Ghatsila railway station and bus stand.
Availability of resources: Emergency e.g. Fire Brigade, Hospital and other Govt. services are not available readily.

Educational programs include the courses offered by CBSE up to Std X based on CCE pattern & Sr. Sec. as per CBSE norms, Science and
Commerce up to plus 2 levels. Computer exposure & training is provided to all students, teaching & non-teaching staff. Facility of
internet, surfing, and mailing are made available to all concerned. Question papers are generally computer generated.
Literacy to all is our motto. All helping hands are being motivated to join basic learning program during vacations & in HOBBY classes.
Almost all of them are confident to put up their signatures. Games and sports try to cover all students at all levels by trained faculty.
The school collects students from the entire cross-section of the society. At present the school consists of 1500 students, 70 teaching
staff, 4 office staff and 26 support-staff. In house Trainings /Updating of teachers are done by knowledge sharing, talk, discussion,
guidance by ACAMEDIC & ADMINISTRATIVE Coordinators, eminent visitors & management persons from, Kolkata & other places.

To promote better quality education with changing needs and requirements,
To take care of financially weaker sections of society wherever possible.
Social commitments like eye check-up camps followed by providing spectacles to all who were recommended & also organized surgery
for those who were recommended by eye surgeons, health check-up etc. The entire expenses were borne by the school management.
Family bonding with parents and stake holders by regular interaction, informally, interview with teachers, Director, PPL, Rector,
Administrator, and Management.

New computers for computer laboratories apart from the existing ones. No of computers has gone up to 75 as compared to 63 in
the previous year.
Library with 9000 plus books & manuals. Magazines/journals received- 30/month. No. of newspapers received daily -8.
Multi –media room with projector for audio-visual aids with CD Bank.
LAN network from office to computer labs, library, exam room, multimedia room with broadband internet sharing for resource
utilization and sharing.
Well equipped Science labs, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, & Geography for practical learning.
Math lab to make learning of Maths easy and fun with use of mathematical activities.
Use of multimedia room according to specific time table.

SNSVM is run by the Women’s organization of Shree Satsang Sadan comprising of the disciples of Gurudev Sant NANDLAL. All the
officials including President & Secretary are elected. The President & Secretary look after the Organizational matters. The Jt. Secretary,
Director, PPL, Rector, Administrator, look after the functioning of the school.
