One Giant Leap Invites You To A Celebration and viewing of the launch of Sunita Williams on the Soyuz Rocket Saturday, July 14, 2012 Admirals Hall Massachusetts Maritime Academy 9:00 p.m. Presentation byAstronaut Dan Burbank 10:30 p.m. Suni’s Launch Exp. 32 Exp. 33 U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Dan Burbank has completed three spaceflight missions, most recently as a long duration astronaut where he spent 165 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Dan will talk about his latest mission, life aboard the ISS, and what the future holds for NASA. Following Dan’s talk, he will provide a play-by-play commentary on the events leading up to Suni’s launch on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. This will be Suni’s second long duration mission on the ISS. In 2006 , she launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Space Shuttle Discovery and returned 195 days later on Space Shuttle Atlantis, breaking the world record for the most time spent in space by a woman.
