Geog. 3200 Science 8 World History 3201 - - June 23, 2015 Tuesday, Day 6 June 24, 2015 Wednesday, Day 7 Francais 3202 All PUBLIC EXAMS are 3 hours in duration. All final exams in academic high school courses shall be 2 hours duration. Each exam can avail of 10 minutes/hour extra time. All general courses shall have a 1 hour test. English 1201 and 2201 are common exams across the NLESD and treated similar to public exams except they are corrected by the teacher. In JUNIOR HIGH, final exams begin on Wednesday, June 17th and students are expected to be in attendance Monday and Tuesday, June 15 and 16th. Language Arts 9 is a 2 hour Provincial Department of Education assessment. Math 9 is a 2 hour District Common Exams. Math and Language grades 7 and 8 are 2 hour school based final exams. Each exam can avail of 10 minutes/hour extra time. Science Literacy in 7, 8, and 9 are 1 hour school based assessments/tests. There are no final exams in French or Socials grades 7, 8, and 9. No student writing a public exam will be permitted to enter the exam room in the AM session after 10:00 AM or the PM session after 2:00 PM. Students who start a public exam late WILL NOT be given extra time beyond the scheduled end time to complete the exam. No student writing a public exam will be permitted to leave the exam room in the AM session until 10:00 AM or the PM session prior to 2:00 PM. Cell Phones, I-Pods and other electronic devices ARE NOT permitted to be used in the exam room and CANNOT be used as calculators. You must have a separate calculator. Students writing an assessment will be required to stay in the exam room for 1 hour and 15 minutes from the start time. Students writing two publics exams the same day will be given 40 minutes from the completion of one exam (as required for lunch) to the start of the next exam. High school and middle school students who are not writing an examination during a particular session will not be required to attend school and may stay home to prepare for their next exam. Those in attendance MUST spend the entire exam time in a designated study hall. There are no extra bus runs during exams. Students wishing to sign out between exams MUST have a note for that day or make parental contact. Students discovered using any unfair means during the examination will be directed to leave the exam room and will report immediately to the principal. The student's paper will be cancelled and the subject teacher shall determine how to accurately assess the student’s achievement. The overall grade in the course/program remains incomplete until such time that an appropriate assessment is completed. Further disciplinary action may also ensue as per Article 2.12 of the Eastern School Districts Assessment and Evaluation Policy.
