Materials • New Deal Programs Flash Cards (Class Set) • New Deal Programs Slot Sheet Just Do It (hook): • Think-Pair-Share: If you were President Roosevelt, and you were in charge of fixing the Great Depression, how would you go about it? We already say how he attempted to save the banks, what would you do to fix the other parts of society? Obj # Check for Evidence of Understanding 1 Just Do It (5 minutes) Observation Transition: Today, we will look at many of the programs that sprung up under the Roosevelt administration. Because there are 10 that you will be responsible for, we are going to divide up into groups, and each group will become the expert on that particular organization. At the end of class, be ready to share what you have learned about your group. 1 Students should count off 1-10. Give Informal Observation of each group the class set of Flashcards group presentations. and give them 5 minutes to read and 10 minutes to discuss their organization with their group (15 minutes). Student presentations should also take (15 minutes) as groups are presenting, observing groups should be filling in information on their New Deal Programs slot sheet. Transition: As we can see, FDR was a busy president.
