3. Take turns reading the first picture and word.
4. Use the letter cards to switch the beginning sound to match the
next picture.
• Basic: Use the worksheet to write and draw 6 of the new
words you made.
• Advanced: On the back of your paper write 2 sentences
using 2 of the words you wrote.
Challenge: Be a word detective and look for other words that you
can make by changing just the beginning sound using these word
chunks: __it, __op, __up.
Reflections: How would you keep and organize all the new words
you have made so that you could use them to help you think of
rhyming words to write a funny poem?
