Receiving the Biggoron Sword
in the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
In this installment of the Zelda series, there are many tough monsters and bosses
that Link (the main character) must defeat. The standard sword that adult Link uses,
aka the Master Sword, is good enough to accomplish your goals and beat the game.
However, if you are looking for a way to kill these monsters much faster or if you
just want to collect everything in the game, then obtaining the Biggoron sword is a
must. These instructions will guide beginner and expert alike in how to receive the
Biggoron sword by trading various items to different people throughout the land of
Hyrule. Accomplishing all of the tasks shouldn’t take more than 2-3 hours. To fully
understand these instructions, you should know how to get to the different locations
as well as understand how to control the game and interact with others inside the
game.
Necessities:
 Become adult Link (the adult form of the main character)
 Have rescued Epona, the horse, and can summon her at will
 Obtain blue fire or have already saved King Zora from the red ice
Warning!
A few of the steps are timed, meaning you only have a few minutes to get that
item to its recipient. You may use the warp points found in the Lost Woods if
you desire, but warping to a temple entrance by playing the appropriate song
may result in forfeiting all remaining time.
Steps:
1. Talk to the woman in Kakariko Village by the cuckoo pen. She will give you
the weird egg.
2. Wait for the egg to hatch and become a cuckoo. It will hatch at dawn.
Tip: You may wait for the egg to hatch with time or you can speed up the
process by playing the sun’s song until it changes from night to day.
3. Go to the inn in Kakariko Village and wake Talon, the sleeping man, by using
the cuckoo.
4. Return to the first woman you talked with and show her the cuckoo. She will
give you the blue cuckoo.
5. Deliver the blue cuckoo to the man in the Lost Woods. He will give you the
odd mushroom.
Timed! You only have 3 minutes to deliver this item!
6. Take the odd mushroom to the Old Hag in the Potion Shop in Kakariko Village.
There is plenty of time to get there if you want to walk through Hyrule field
or use the warp to the Goron city via the Lost Woods. She will give you the
odd potion.
Tip: The Old Hag is not in the main Potion shop shown. You need to go
through the main potion shop and out the back door to get to the correct one.
7. Return to the Lost Woods and give the odd potion to the Kokiri girl who is
now in the same spot as the other man was before. She gives you the
poacher’s saw.
8. Jump across the broken bridge in Gerudo Valley using Epona. The bridge may
be repaired if all of the craftsmen have already been rescued. Give the
poacher’s saw to the master craftsman on the other side of the bridge. He will
give you the broken Biggoron sword.
9. Climb Death Mountain to find the Biggoron. Give him the broken Biggoron
sword. He gives you the prescription.
Tip: It is much easier to reach the top of Death Mountain if you have already
defeated the fire temple since you can climb on the inside of the mountain. If
the fire temple has not been defeated, then you have to run through all of the
falling rocks
10. Take the prescription to King Zora in Zora’s Domain. He gives you the eyeball
frog.
Tip: King Zora is originally frozen in red ice. In order to deliver the item to
him, you need to unfreeze him first with blue fire. Blue fire can either be
purchased at the potion shop in Kakariko Village for 300 rupees or taken
from the Ice Cavern for free.

11. Deliver the eyeball frog to the man in the Lakeside Laboratory in Lake Hylia.
You will most likely need Epona to make it within the time limit. He gives you
world’s finest eyedrops.
Warning!
You cannot use the warp from the Zora’s Domain to Lake Hylia since all the
water in Zora’s Domain is frozen. You must get to the lake through Hyrule
field, using your horse.
Timed! You only have 4 minutes to deliver this item!
12. Return to the top of Death Mountain and give the world’s finest eyedrops to
the Biggoron. He gives you the claim check.
13. Wait for a while.
Tip: It takes 3 days for the Biggoron to finish reforging the sword. You can
either wait for it to be done or play the sun’s song 6 times.
14. Return to the Biggoron on top of Death Mountain, unless you never left, and
he gives you the Biggoron sword.
Congratulations! You have just received the Biggoron sword! Now go
kill some bad guys with it!
