2 News These Yearbookers are collecting memories Jase Harvey Editor This month of love has two splendid students making their way into the heart of the BOTM books. First there is senior Ryan Brown, who is a secret mastermind for both the school paper and the yearbook. “I spend three periods a day with Mr. Burkle.” Brown specializes in the ins and outs of design, Favorite Egg Order: photography, and managing Scrambled...with cheese the development of articles. Magazine: Sports IllusBrown has played trated soccer and basketball all Condiment: Ranch throughout high school, and football for his first two. He has also been in student council and in NHS during his time here. Following high school, Brown will attend the UNK, where he will major in sports communication. “One day, I hope to run my own paper.” Winning BOTM is no easy feat, and Ryan is glad he could accept the award. “It was an honor,” he said. “It’s been something I’ve always wanted.” Maybe one day, this star pupil will be covering the Super Bowl on ESPN. Jase Harvey Editor Number two Bulldog of the Month is senior Pacer Annah Wesslund. She has been involved in Key Club from sophomore to senior year, and has been a member of the Dance Factory for eight years. “I was really excited,” upon receiving the honor. Not only has she worked diligently in school, but out of school as well. Since last Septem- Favorite movie: The ber, Wesslund has worked at Proposal the Sports Shoppe. “I like the Color: Pink hours, because I usually have Food: Fettuccine Alfredo time to work on homework.” She has occasionally rung bells and served Salvation Army supper for her church, First United Methodist. Additionally, she has been on the yearbook staff for two years. Wesslund plans on attending the UNL to pursue a career in medicine. "Physiology made me want to enter this field, but I can't handle the blood and guts, so my options are limited." Her advice to underclassmen is this: “Don’t take the easy way out. Taking those hard classes will help you in the future.” We recommend listening to this bright young lady's advice. Kettle O'Connor A big popping thanks for her generous donation of a bag of microwavable kettle corn to two hungry editors during a second period class. If everybody were a little more like Mrs. O'Connor and fed hungry students, we would all be really obese, but hey, that's not the point! They started the morning out with 30 pre-registered the Journalism Department during girls and ended with over 120. The day included learning a cheer, chant, routine, making a craft, and having a snack. The theme for the school hours at 535-7105. clinic was "Eat, Sleep, Cheer, Repeat!" On dances...
