DNA Model Project Rubric Students must create a three dimensional model of a DNA molecule. Students will work in pairs to create a free standing DNA double helix. Student models must include the following: Points 24 phosphate molecules (12 per strand) 12 24 deoxyribose molecules (12 per strand) 12 24 nitrogenous bases (12 per strand) 12 12 hydrogen bonds 6 Appropriate base pairs are assembled 12 Accurate representation of a DNA molecule (double helix, alternating sugar & phosphates) Key coding for each component of the DNA molecule (ex.
