Dear Parents and New Third Grade Student, Welcome to Mrs. Patti's classroom! I am really excited to have you in my class for the 2015-2016 school year. This is my 16th year teaching third grade at Livonia! I live in Avon with my husband and three children: Dominic, Sophia, and Vincente. Dom is going into 4th grade, Sophie is going into first grade, and Vincente will be attending 4 year old Pre-K at St. Agnes. I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation. My summer has been wonderful! I have been able to spend a lot of time camping with my family. I’m looking forward to hearing about your summer this September! September may seem far away, but it will be here before we know it. I can’t wait to meet you and learn all about you this year! Before September arrives I wanted to send you some information that will help you prepare for the start of 3rd grade. The class supply list is included in this letter. Please bring these items to my Meet and Greet on September 2nd or to school on September 8th. I have also attached a letter about class t-shirts. Please read the letter for more information about ordering a class t-Shirt for your child. For the first day of school I would like you to bring a sandwich size Ziploc bag full of one of your favorite snacks. We will be using this for our class friendship snack. (See the attached letter for specific snack ideas.) You will find a blank pattern of a student along with this letter. I would like you to cut out the pattern and design it to look like you. You can use any materials that you have around your home: yarn, fabric, markers, buttons, and sequins. Be creative! Please bring this doll with you on the first day of school or to the Meet and Greet. I will be holding a Meet and Greet Night on Wednesday, September 2nd from 3:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. in my classroom. This will be a time when you can bring in your class supplies and meet me prior to school starting. On the first day of school you will receive another letter from me with important information in it regarding our school year. I really look forward to meeting you and your family! Enjoy the rest of your summer. We are going to have a fantastic year together! Sincerely, Mrs. Patti This is a picture of my family and I! family and I! 3rd grade supply list 2015-2016 1 2 2 3 2 2 1 2 1 5 box of 24 crayons large glue sticks composition journals folders (1 blue, 1 red, & 1 yellow) packages of 12 pencils packages of eraser caps pencil bag/box boxes of tissues pair of scissors black dry erase markers Please make sure your child has labeled all of his/her school supplies with a permanent marker (except for pencils, Expo markers, and eraser caps). I will be collecting the pencils, erasers, and Expo markers for a class supply. Dear Parents, In order to encourage class spirit and team work in our room, I will be ordering class t-shirts from Royaltees in Geneseo this year. The cost of each tshirt is $7.00. We will be wearing our t-shirts for special third grade events throughout the year: Reader’s Rewards, field trips, Field Day, etc. Please complete the form below and send in $7.00 (CASH ONLY) in a sealed envelope. If you need help with the cost of the t-shirt, please let me know. It would be great if you could bring the order form and cash in at our Meet and Greet or during the first week of school. I will order the t-shirts once I’ve received everyone’s order form. Thank you so much for your time and cooperation. Sincerely, Stephanie Patti Patti’s Panthers T-Shirt Permission Slip Student Name ________________________________ Circle T-shirt size Small (6-8) Medium (10-12) Large (14-16) X-Large (18-20) Friendship Snack Dear Parents, On the first day of school I would like to have a class “friendship snack”. Your child will need to bring in a sandwich size Ziploc bag filled with a snack to share. Please choose something that is not sticky. Muffins, doughnuts, and gummies will not work well. Pretzels, Goldfish, Teddy Grahams, cereal, M&M’s, raisins, and other small, dry snacks would be perfect! I will combine all of the treats into a large bowl. Then each child will get a cup full of our “Friendship snack” to eat. We should have enough of the friendship snack for the rest of the week. Starting on Monday, each child should bring his/her own snack to school each day. Some parents like to send in several individually wrapped snacks or a box of something (ex. Cheez-its) at the start of the week to last the entire week. We take a snack break or have a “working” snack midmorning every day. This helps the students make it through until lunchtime. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Stephanie Patti
