Name: Date: Period: Egg Drop Design Brief Problem Design a device that will safely transport an egg after dropping it off the stairs on the stadium press box. Materials 5 pieces of notebook paper 1 piece of newspaper 10 staples 1 Dixie cup 2 feet of string 2 feet of tape 5 paper clips 10 note cards 5” x 8” Design Requirements 1. A raw egg must be used for the test. 2. Egg must be very easily removed. 3. Device must start above the rail on the stairs. 4. Device may not be assisted by a helping hand or other energy source. 5. Final design can only include the materials listed. 6. Designs are drawn on graph paper. 7. Designs should be labeled. Repairs and adjustments can only be made using the left over materials. 1 team member will drop the device from the stairs on the press box. The entire device and egg must be above the railing. If the egg is cracked it does not survive. Grading The grade will be determined based on completion of the Device. The Design Project rubric will be used.
