Trade Finance Officer. Arab African International Bank (AAIB) – Egypt. Documentary Credits and Letters of Guarantees Department (LCs & LGs, Operations – Head Office).  Opening and development for international and local documentary credits and letters of guarantees.  Process and follow-up with new letters of credit (import and export) MT700, amendments MT707, payments via MT202, and MT103 and letters of guarantee MT760, MT767, MT768, MT769 (foreign and/or local) as well as use of a variety of other MT Swift Message formats.   Present monthly due bills report and LG performance report to the Central Bank of Egypt. Knowledge and use of UCP 600, Incoterms 2000 and 2010, URDG 458 and URDG 758, SWIFT (MT7 series) and AS 400 System tools.    Attended a three day course for Incoterms 2010. One month training for the Letters Of Credit/Guarantee Department in rules and procedures. Four month training program in overall functions and departments of the banking system (Banking Foundation Program). 

June 2010 – December 2010.

(Part-time alongside full-time employment) English Instructor. Berlitz Language Center – Nasr City, Egypt.  Taught English as a second language to mature students of all ages ranging from university students to senior level employees with a focus on speaking and conversation.  Coordinated the education and examination of at least two classes, consisting of 10-12 students at a time for six consecutive weeks.  Received formal training.

One-month training program for Price Waterhouse Coopers LLC, in the Financial Accounting Services Department (FAS).  Developed my knowledge of accounting by learning the company’s accounting system and different methods of recording and presenting of clients’ accounts.  Communicated with various clients during regular meetings.  Introduced to and taught how to use the company’s accounting software (Comsys).  Attended a Code of Conduct Conference. 

November 2003 – July 2004.

Part-time Sales Assistant. Michael Brown Bakery. Sander stead Road, Surrey, England, United Kingdom.  Organized the goods before opening, follow-up with the stock room supplies.  Tended to customers’ requests and dealt with special orders for weddings and birthdays.  Counted stock after closing and organized the shop for the next working day. 

November 2001.

Two week work experience program working for Willingham Nursery. Willingham, United Kingdom.  Arrived before the children in order to set up the day's activities.

 Coordinated with staff regarding the children’s educational activities.

 Supervised a group of children alone and given tasks to teach them the alphabet, reading, writing, practice knowledge of shapes colours, animals and other knowledge/educational activities.

CONFERENCES AND CAREER-RELATED PROJECTS

   Attended an Accounting Conference for Earnest & Young. The changes in both accounting principles and the way business have changed in accordance to the ever-changing business environment. Arranged and provided by AUC.

Attended a simulation project for Real Life Accounting Counsel with Price Waterhouse Coopers. Simulation showed the environment and requirements needed for a future career in a private accounting firm. Arranged and provided by AUC.

Presented a Due Diligence Report for Apple Inc. for Price Waterhouse Coopers as part of the Accounting Counsel for the Real Life Student Union Project. Arranged and provided by AUC.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

September 2007 – June 2009

Member of the Accounting Link Club. Student Services Committee, AUC.

 Tended to any requests, needs, or complaints accounting and finance students had about their major and/or classes.  Coordinated between students and the Career Advising and Placement Services (CAPS) Office, in order to help them to apply for internships or future jobs and helped make the process easier.  Advised members on which courses they needed to take and what was required of them for each course.  Group Coordinator for Accounting Link Simulation with Earnest & Young. Simulation of what an accounting firm requires and the process of completing the financial statements.

Participated in the theatre production ‘Guys & Dolls’ at the American University in Cairo  Worked backstage as a hair and make-up designer.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

     I enjoy attending theatre productions both at AUC and outside. Reading modern fiction novels, especially novels written by Harlen Coben. Reading local and international newspapers. Listening to a variety of music presented in Sakkiet El Sawi “Sawi Culture Wheel”. Travelling.
