Subject coordinator, Race in America (HIST30059) Semester 2, 2015
Expressions of interest are sought for the position of Coordinator for the undergraduate
3rd-year lecture subject, Race in America (HIST30059), to be taught in second semester
2015 in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at The University of Melbourne.
The Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of lectures, for all administrative tasks
associated with the assessment and delivery of the subject, and production of the subject
guide. The Coordinator will also be expected to take at least two tutorials.

Selection criteria:




A PhD in American history or a discipline relevant to the content of the subject
Demonstrated excellence in teaching of undergraduate subjects at the tertiary level,
including in subject coordination, delivery of lectures and assessment
Demonstration of high-level organisational and communication skills
A capacity to teach students from different academic backgrounds
Applications should provide:
An academic CV including



details of relevant teaching experience and performance at a tertiary level, including
teaching evaluations;
details of academic expertise and publication record;
and the names of three academic referees who can comment on suitability for
teaching.
