You are required to purchase Webassign, a computer software that gives you access to the online homework that you must do for this course. Class Key: tcc.fl 1277 0327. The Math and Science area offers support in mathematics and science. Calculators that do symbolic algebra, such as TI 89, TI 92, HP 48, etc. are not allowed. Cell phones cannot be used. 3. ID: A photo ID is required for tests and the final exam. Prerequisite A grade of C or better in MAC 1105 (or in MAC1102 if taken prior to Fall 1991 or MAC1104 if taken prior to Fall 1998. Please see me if you fall into one of these two categories). Grades of C or better in both MAC 2114 and MAC 2140 are prerequisites for MAC 2311 (Calculus I). THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE PREREQUISITE POLICY. This course is one of the prerequisites for MAC 2311, Calculus with Analytic Geometry I. A Course Description study of the trigonometric functions of angles and real numbers along with their graphs and inverses; solutions of triangles and other applications; trigonometric identities; introduction to vectors and their properties; complex numbers in trigonometric form, and DeMoivre’s Theorem; introduction to polar equations and to parametric equations. A complete list of course objectives is available on request from the Science/Mathematics division office. Please place all trash in the appropriate container. Attendance Success in this course depends on your regular attendance. Students are responsible for completion of all work assigned in class whether they are present or not. W Deadline The last day to withdraw is Friday, March 26 (cannot withdraw online). If you are absent, tardy and/or leave class early more than twice during the semester (for whatever reason) with a failing test average, you will be administratively withdrawn from class. Do not automatically assume you have been withdrawn. Homework Homework will be assigned on a daily basis. Completing and understanding your homework is the best way to study for tests. Your homework/quiz average counts as a test grade. Quizzes Tests Expect a quiz every class day. A zero on a quiz counts as an absence. Your quiz/homework average counts as a test grade. A few replacement quizzes will be given throughout the semester, but no make up quizzes. NO EXCEPTIONS! There will be a total of three tests. The test dates are Fri. January 29, Fri. March 5, and Fri. April 16. There are no makeup tests. NO EXCEPTIONS! Your final test grade will help you fill in the grade of a total of one lowest test grade with exemption of Quiz/HW average. Final Exam Final exam is on Friday, April 30 from 10am-12pm. Academic Integrity You are expected to do your own work on exams taken in class. Providing information to another student or receiving information concerning exam content is considered cheating and will NOT be tolerated. If this should occur, disciplinary action will take place in one of the following forms: a zero for the test, being dropped from the course, suspension, or expulsion from school. Evaluation & Grading Scale: Your grade will be determined by your online homework, tests, and the final exam.
