ASTD is transitioning to ATD
o We have one year to transition WV to ATD
o Send an initial letter to members and contacts that advises them to the change
and what our groups change looks like
i. Mary will prep the letter and send to Terry for
approval
o National is not accepting any new chapters for the tax exempt status. We will
need to obtain our own tax exempt status immediately to move forward with other
paperwork.
o Taxes are due May 15th each year to keep our status & requirements.
2.
Sponsorship – Mary
o We will need to commit to getting this packet out to five different
organizations & the individuals they will be speaking to & following up with.
o It will also be available on the website.
o PayPal is set up now

Charles Town GIG – 4th Tuesday in June

New URL for Website – Nicole
o http://www.atdwv.org/ – we are official!
o Vicky – see if you can make the WV logo smaller for website application &
send to Nicole
o Need to figure out what to do once we reach our contact max – we will have to
upgrade our website.
o Anything you want to send with pictures and send in to highlight our events.
o Asking different members of various groups to submit blogs for the website.
o Who can be our Social Media Guru? At the State Level & GIG Level.

Membership – Lisa
o Rebranded Membership Form
o New Membership application Forms on website
o New Sign in Sheets with new branding with instructions on how to upload that
on Google Drive
o Tracking membership log for monthly meetings updated
o ‘Meeting in a box’ - Terri
i. Would include prizes, sign in sheets, logo stuff,
etc for all to share
o Proactively reaching out to new members and members that may be close to
expiring
o GIG Leaders can proactively keep members engaged through meet & greets
and follow ups

ATD 2015 Conference
o Terri & Vicky will be meeting June 21st in Morgantown Qdoba @ noon to go
over the checklist and compile all ideas.
 All are invited, but do not feel required to attend.
 They will reach out to each volunteer and board member by June 30th
with assignments.
o Theme & Topics centered around the competency model and/or in line with
National Initiatives.
 Ideas due by Friday, June 13th
 One idea – ‘The Pillars of the Industry’
 This would be focused on three competencies – Performance
Improvement, Instructional Design, & Training Delivery. Jennifer
Naughton (Senior Director of Competencies & Credentialing)
refers to these as the Pillars of our Industry as they are the basis of
any career in our industry.

Elections o An email requesting nominations for the ATD WV Board to paying members
and how this process will work.
o Elections are held every other year and various positions will be available.
o Terry & Mary will interview each candidate & there will be an application
process.
o Nominations will be conducted through email & elections will be conducted
through Survey Monkey.
8.
Terry Closing Notes:
o We have many things happening as a growing organization!
o Thank you for all the work that each of you do!
o I will talk to Laura about opportunities for moving the coaching sessions
around the state.
o Next call we will look at the Checklist for the transition from ASTD to ATD.
