2016 Career Development Day Request for Proposal Some of our best opportunities to learn come from our peers – from those who have forged a path and have lessons learned to share with others. We’d like to encourage you to volunteer to share your experiences during a concurrent session at the ATD Central Iowa Career Development Day on January 22nd, 2016. This is a great opportunity to support the development of others through informative sessions that provide opportunities to network and share ideas and best practices. Our theme for this year’s session is “Get Connected”. Think about how talent development reaches all areas of your organization, and use this theme to create an engaging presentation that will help others see how talent development connects associates through sustained learning. We are asking your presentation fit into one of the ATD Areas of Expertise listed below: 1. Integrated Talent Management, Managing Learning Programs, and Knowledge Management Examples of topics may include: Succession Planning, Performance Analysis, Establishing a Strategy and/or Vision 2. Performance Improvement, Change Management, and Coaching Examples of topics may include: Conducing Performance Analysis, Effective Feedback Techniques, Questioning Techniques 3. Training Delivery, Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Evaluating Learning Impact Examples of topics may include: Learning Methodologies, Applying Learning Theory, Integrating Technology Options * Visit the ATD Competency Model here for more information on the Areas of Expertise. Proposal Submission Guidelines The Chapter greatly appreciates your willingness to volunteer your time and expertise. 1. Proposal must be submitted using this Request for Proposal form. We also encourage your creativity. Feel free to include any supplemental materials (ie: video, animations, visuals) to help your proposal stand out! 2. If submitting more than one proposal, please complete a separate RFP form for each. 3. All Request for Proposal forms must be received no later August 28, 2015. 4. Only proposals meeting these guidelines will be included in the review process. Timeframe Concurrent sessions are planned to be held during several periods throughout the day. Sessions will be approximately 50 minutes in length, including time for Q&A. Concurrent sessions will be in breakout rooms at the conference facility. Upon selection, a member of the Career Development Day committee will work with you to confirm your designated time and inform you of the particular breakout room, as well as discuss audio visual needs, participant handouts, etc. Expected audience size per session could range from 20-60 people. A Sponsor and Speaker Expo immediately following lunch is also planned. By agreeing to present at the Career Development Day you will also be volunteering to be available to provide an overview of your session to participants who would like to learn more, ask questions, or get a synopsis of your session in the event they are not able to attend in small groups. No time to develop a presentation but would like to host a table at the Sponsor and Speaker Expo? No problem. Indicate this as your preference on page 3 and a member of the speaker committee with reach out to you with more details. However if you are willing to repeat your session, the committee may see benefit to offering your topic in various rounds of concurrent sessions.
