WHAT YOU WILL LEARN IN THIS COURSE This is a comprehensive course in Computer Applications including word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, and database applications using Microsoft Office 2010. Familiarity with the fundamentals and some advanced features of Microsoft Office Word 2010, Microsoft Office Excel 2010, Microsoft Office Access 2010, and Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 is assumed. The objectives of this course are: To offer a comprehensive presentation of Microsoft Office 2010 and Access 2010. To expose students to practical examples of the computer as a useful tool. To acquaint students with the proper procedures to create workbooks and worksheets suitable for coursework, professional purposes, and personal use. To help students discover the underlying functionality of MS Office Word 2010, MS Power Point 2010, Excel 2010, and Access 2010 so that such tools can be used more effectively and productively. To develop an project-based approach that allows learning by doing IV. TEACHING METHODS Fully online-oriented course. Extensive use of books, videos and materials posted in Blackboard. Exams: Twelve (12) project-based exams will be given in accordance to each one of the tools covered during the course (MS Office Word 2010, Excel 2010, Power Point 2010, and Access 2010). V. Late submission of Emails – All email communications need to be sent to helpca2@eng.fau.edu. This is an email help ticket system that issues your request a number and opens a “ticket” for your instructor and teaching assistants. Each ticket is assigned to someone for handling and will be closed when the problem is resolved. MyITLab, a simulator requires some plugins that do not work on a Mac computer. If you use your own computer, you will need to load some software including MyITLab license and Microsoft 2010 license.
