ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with hospital patient information systems or other computerized scheduling system; Related work experience in a clinical office or surgical office environment; Experience in coordinating calendars and booking Clinical appointments and O.R. procedures Basic knowledge of billing procedures; Experience with patient/client communication & reception duties; Experience in the collection of data and working with databases; Representative Duties Under the direction of the Manager of Physician Services, the incumbent will be trained in the provision of clinical and administrative support in an Orthopaedic Surgery Office. Upon successful completion of both a training program and the probationary period, the incumbent will be prepared and eligible to apply for ongoing opportunities for advancement to a permanent Surgical Office Assistant (SOA) position. Representative Duties and Responsibilities (SOA): Scheduling clinic appointments including consultation and follow-up appointments, arranging investigations, and slating OR procedures; Coordinating physician’s calendar with respect to meetings, clinics, and teaching sessions; Triaging of telephone calls and reception duties; Typing a variety of material related to administrative, patient care, research and teaching activities, as required including processing of digital and/or manual transcription of patient correspondence; Filing and processing the mail; Basic billing procedures; and Miscellaneous secretarial/clinical duties as assigned. “We thank all who apply and advise that only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
