JOB DESCRIPTION Post Title: Organisation: Grade/Salary: Communications Officer Cyclopark Trust £22,000 pro rata on a three day week Plus benefits including Membership package, pension and performance bonus scheme Reports to: Responsible for: Date: Period of Employment; Job Purpose: CEO June 2013. From appointment to March 2014- May be extended subject to funds To deliver a communication plan To increase participation through marketing and promotion To increase income through sponsorship, ticket income, bookings and create other income through opportunities The post may attract EU funding and as such other additional duties may be allocated Background Cyclopark is a brand new attraction that includes parkland, sports facilities, play areas and pavilion building. It is very busy centre, with varied tasks and extensive contact with the public. The post holder will be required to work outside of normal office hours, including weekends Main duties: 1. Service Delivery Deliver a communications plan that addresses key markets and audiences Develop promotional/information access improvements Assist with the preparation of reports as required To act as duty manager as required 2.Finances Responsible for related budgets for delivery of services as outlined above 3. Administration To keep accurate records of all work undertaken and provide marketing material when required. 4. Health and Safety Role specific Management of all Health& Safety/Risk assessment checks, First Aid and emergency procedures. 5. Customer Care Assist in the smooth running of Cyclopark, acting as a point of contact and an ambassador for Cyclopark at all times. Work as part of team in a continuously improving facility 6. Events and Activities Assist with the planning and implementation of all Cyclopark events Person Specification: 1. Experience – Experience of working and managing in the leisure industry, communications, marketing with specific skills in community based sports development. 2. Qualifications – Good standard of literacy and numeracy. IT competency, qualified to a minimum of British Cycling Level 2 and or other sports related qualifications 3. Skills – Customer care skills and a flexible positive attitude to work. 4. Aptitude- self-starter, well organised, highly motivated, effective communicator
