To do this they will visit 8 weather stations in turn. At each station they will find an instruction card and the equipment necessary to measure one aspect of the weather. All teams will visit all stations (weather and time-permitting!). The workshop will conclude indoors with a review of the pupils’ results and a discussion about what they have learned. PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will take place outside in all weathers as long as it is safe to do so i.e. will be postponed if icy or too windy, in all other weathers we will be outside. Pupils AND teachers must provide suitable clothing for themselves – K’NEXT Generation does NOT provide clothing. Purposes This workshop is designed to encourage the four Purposes of CfE by providing active learning opportunities which aim to help pupils become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors. Make your own set of weather instruments (see below for instructions) and continue to record the weather for your school in a weather log. 2. Design your own weather log as a spreadsheet on the computer. Use the data you collect to make charts/graphs of daily rainfall, temperature etc. 3. Look at climate data from around the world and compare it to the weather you experience at your school. 4. Research online about the effects of climate change around the world and where you live. 5. Visit the Met Office website and view the educational resources available (see below). 6. Try out one of the projects and activities (see below). 7.
